ITAS Alerts

Release 8.3.1 delivers a major overhaul in the architecture of the ITAS Alerting system. Previously alerts were based on database dependencies and alert details were pre-configured based on the table the alert was triggered from.

This was a good architecture in that detailed alerts were available and manageable by administrators, but they were restricted in a number of ways. For example: the data range was limited, changes to the audit key were manually configured, alerts were specific to a particular trading entity and only data change events could be alerted on.

In the new version of alerts, all events are triggered via the Audit Table. This means the only restriction is that the event must appear in the audit table, if it does an alert can be created by an Alerts Admin and subscribed to by Users.

In addition, the delivery mechanism is now powered by the ITAS Event Engine. This means multiple subscriber types can be easily added without changing the underlying architecture.

Reporting Alerts

The move to the Events Engine brings an additional benefit, alerts can set up to deliver information from sources other than the audit table. These alerts, which are pre-configured by Hivedome, are not editable by Alert Admins but can be subscribed to, or unsubscribed from, by users.

As a demonstration of the capabilities of these types of alerts, new sections have been added to the My Alerts user page: Overnight Reports, Risk Alerts & Trading Notifications. This section enables users to subscribe to both email and desktop alerts which are triggered when specific overnight reporting jobs are triggered. The current set of available Reporting Alerts include:

Overnight Reports

  •  Position Report - TRADEQ Style 2
  •  Summary Report - TRADEQ Style 3
  •  Detail Report - NEWBIZ Detail Style
  •  Trade Net Report - NEWBIZ Trade Net Style
  •  Trade Reminder Report - TRADEREM

  •  Trading Limits Exceeded - commitment, risk, tonnage (Counterparty, CP Family, Country, Commodity)
  •  Credit/Payment Limits Exceeded - Counterparty Credit/Payment limits have been exceeded

Trading Notifications

ITAS Float Panel – History Tab

In release 8.2.3, the ITAS Float Panel was delivered, this incorporated a separate window, whose purpose is to hold peripheral information that will make working with ITAS on a day to day basis faster and easier.

The first release of the float panel included a tab called Windows which listed all current open ITAS windows (TRADE, CLI, etc). By interacting with the Float panel each window could either be closed or brought to the front of your desktop. The Float Panel itself, can be minimised, maximised or ‘pinned’ to stay on top of all windows. This is a very useful way to keep track of the number of windows you have open and to quickly switch between them.

In release 8.3.1, a new tab called History has been added to the ITAS Float Panel which we think will be even more useful. This tab lists the last 25 contracts, invoices or any other ITAS entity you have opened. Clicking the item will reopen it in the Menu Item you previously opened it in.

This functionality works across sessions, so the contracts you opened in the last few days will stay in your Float Panel until newly opened contracts push previous items off the bottom of the list.

Reports Admin

Clients who have signed up to the ITAS Reporting Database now have the ability to control exports to the reporting database via Trader Desktop. Access is given to users in the Reports Admin Active Directory group and the interface is found in Settings > Reports Admin, please note this option will not be available if your licence does not include the ITAS Reporting Server.

In the new interface Reports Admins can:

  •  Activate or de-activate the scheduler.
  •  View the schedule used to push data to the reporting database.
  •  Choose the Trading Entities to be included in the scheduled job.
  •  Initiate a manual export.
  •  Choose the Trading Entities to include in the manual export.
  •  View status of the exports and the status of the response.

Scheduled exports enable your systems to automatically publish data to the Reporting Database. Manual exports give you the ability to top up the reporting data, for example if an amendment was made after the scheduled export.

Reports Admin and the ITAS Reporting Server works across multiple sites, so you can have several instances of ITAS feeding into a single Reporting Server. Imagine ITAS instances in South America, Asia Pacific and Europe. All three instances feed data to a common Reporting Server, hosted in a single location, so reports can include data from all continents so you have a complete picture of your organisation’s position in one report.

Bugs Fixed

  •  Issue when user tries to view a message from an inactive company.
  •  Users can see email alert recipients.
