Data Portal was introduced in 2021 to complement the ITAS desktop platforms, with Hivedome’s vision for the new application being a web based analytical tool that would give decision makers insights into their ITAS data via customisable grids and integrated reporting tools.
But as Data Portal has developed it has become clear that the potential uses for the application were far greater than initially anticipated and it quickly became the natural home for many client driven projects and bespoke applications. Over the last couple of years, the functionality has also grown to include features that compliment these bespoke applications, features such as user dashboards, data capture, automated workflows, and xml document creation for example, all of which have helped to evolve Data Portal into the newest, most technically advanced ITAS platform.
So, to continue Data Portal’s journey to becoming a standalone application that can be used independently of Trader Desktop, version 8.22.0 will begin adding features that will enable users to migrate from desktop based ITAS platforms. This will include vital administration features such as User Admin that will allow the creation and management of user accounts.

Microsoft Authentication
One of the key aspects of any software application, particularly if sensitive information is involved, is Data Security. Data Portal includes a password encryption facility during user login.
We are also aware of our responsibilities to our clients and continue to monitor and upgrade our methods of authentication. As a result, in this release, we have added 'Microsoft Entra' as an external provider to our authentication solution. This integration leverages Microsoft's robust security and compliance infrastructure, including features like Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single-Sign-On (SSO) while users continue to use their existing Microsoft's credentials.

Intrra Integration
Inttra’s carrier network is the largest and fastest growing platform for booking and monitoring ocean carriers around the globe. ITAS have partnered with Inttra to extend our Shipping and Logistics services by implementing data integration with the Inttra Ocean Booking Platform.
Authorised users can improve the execution of their carrier services by utilising Inttra’s electronic booking, monitoring, and support capabilities, including the digital exchange of shipping instructions and container tracking.

Mexico E-invoicing
In most South American countries (including Mexico and Colombia) and some European countries, you have a legal requirement to inform the Tax Authority electronically when you send an invoice. In Mexico this is done via a third party provider called a PAC. The ITAS eInvoicing capabilities connects directly with their webservice and sends details of the invoice which is then forwarded to the Tax Authority.
This functionality has now been added to the ITAS Workflow service, allowing processes to be created to send electronic invoices. This will allow the Data Portal invoicing facility to be used in Mexico and simplify the integration of these services to our clients in the future.
Data Portal User Admin
As more and more ITAS users are taking advantage of the growing list of unique features offered by Data Portal, the ability for administrators to be able to maintain and control the setup of, and access to, the platform is becoming of greater importance.
The first Admin feature to be introduced to Data Portal is User Admin, with this initial phase focusing on the management of user access to Data Portal via individual User Accounts or User Roles. Subsequent phases of User Admin will include a full user management facility to allow the creation of new user accounts and accommodate upcoming changes to user licensing etc.
Other Data Portal Admin features to be introduced over the coming months will include Trading Entity Management, Alert and Notification Management, and an Admin Console that will offer administrators real time monitoring of their ITAS infrastructure via a dashboard.

There have been a number of performance improvements to the Company Copy series of WorkFlows.
WebPortal Applications Migration To Data Portal - Phase 1
This phase of this project will see all of the core application functionality duplicated from WebPortal to Data Portal. Phase 2, due for delivery in 8.23.0, will see the UI of each application also being duplicated in Data Portal. This approach should enable users to run comparison tests between the two versions to ensure consistency of functionality and of data before making the switch from Web Portal to Data Portal.
