CHARTPOS - Vessel/Charter Positions

What is CHARTPOS

CHARTPOS allows the user to view the current status of charters applying the dates that have been maintained by CHARTERS and TRADE.
Only CHARTERS that have TRADE(s) assigned with either a Load Port or a Discharge Port will be reported in the grid.
The data shown is only located from TRADE/traffic information.
The default date range is 1 month from today but this can be difficult to view as there would be in excess of 30 columns for viewing and thereby scrolling needed. The user can select whatever range they wish.  The aim of the process is to view key dates that have an impact on the administration of the CHARTERS e.g. ETA at destination might necessitate Invoicing being produced.

On the initial screen, the user can select the following:
  • This is the range of dates to display in the grid.
  • Include...: Choose what status of charters to display i.e open, closed, frozen.
  • Filter TRADE: Standard contracts filter.
  • Filter: Standard CHARTERS filter.

Once the user clicks Proceed, the charters are shown in a grid. There is a column for each calendar day in the range selected, with TODAY being highlighted. There are additional columns at the beginning and end of the grid for "Load Ports No Date" and "Disch Ports No Date". These display data that doesn't fit into the date range. The rows display the charters; for each charter, there are 4 rows. The grid is then populated according to the TRADE data on each charter. Load port data is displayed with a blue background; discharge port data is displayed with an orange background.

  • ETA: Displays the Port of Origin for the TRADE Purchase load ETA date.
  • ETA: Displays the Destination port for the TRADE Sale ETA date.
  • ARR: Displays the Port of Origin for the TRADE Purchase load arrival date.
  • ARR: Displays the Destination port for the TRADE Sale arrival date.
  • ETB: Displays the Port of Origin for the TRADE Purchase load date.
  • CPL: Displays the Port of Origin for the TRADE Purchase departure date.
  • CPL: Displays the Destination port for the TRADE Sale delivery date.

If a charter has multiple ports for a single date, they are displayed separated by "/". Double clicking on a cell will drilldown to display the individual contracts in a user definable display. You can drilldown further to the TRADE itself.
