Creating Reports

You can use your own reporting system linked to these reporting tables to generate any number of general or specific reports. You will also find SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) installed on your reporting database server. This is a Microsoft application included as part of SQL Server and licenced as part of your organisation’s SQL Server, Standard Edition licence. Although Hivedome do not support SSRS, some example SSRS reports have been created do demonstrate the power of the star schemas.

Cross Star Schema Joins

While it is not recommended that reports make use of cross schema joins this is possible but for performance reasons these joins should be kept to a minimum. Cross schema joins are not supported by Hivedome. A better approach is to create a new star schema including the new set of data.
