TERMCODES - F&O Trading

What is TERMCODES

These codes are necessary for the maintenance of instrument/commodity codes, the collection of prices, the calculation of extended values etc. ITAS is an entirely codes based design where the users need to setup various codes before commencing trade/document entry.

Commodity Exchanges codes,  maintain the different exchanges e.g. FOX, LIFFE, NYCSC, CBOT, etc. These codes are needed to describe the exchanges that control the ITAS commodities/instruments (TCCM) being traded. The content is important for establishing Fee structures, the websites from which SPAN_NOW will import F&O prices and span arrays, SFA reporting codes to use and the country of residence is needed to determine some basic practices of the exchange e.g. how premiums are paid/received.

Price codes, important for companies operating Hedge F&O

Weight codes, important for companies operating Hedge F&O

Trade codes, If the company is operating futures hedge/price fixing procedures, these codes are extremely important. These codes are used to inform  several ITAS procedures e.g. TERM/TRADE about the status of the trade deal being entered/maintained so that correct processes are fulfilled for the pricing.  An example of their use is Deliveries to/from Exchange where ITAS would recognise a code = 'TDR'  (Tenders), see FAQ 'Delivery Notices'.
