SIC - System Integrity Check


What is SIC

SIC is a system tool that operates every night to check the integrity of the databases. The SIC program runs a complete check of the continuing integrity of accounting details and balances. The program reconciles every ledger in ITAS separately for self-balancing as well as inter-ledger controls (i.e. control accounts). For contract and client open-item ledgers SIC checks for each account/currency that the sum of the transactions are equal to the stored balances. In the same way, for the Nominal Ledger each open period balance is checked against the sum of the transactions.
The results of accounting SIC, if negative, need to be reported to Hivedome for their input on necessary corrections. If SIC does find error conditions, then either the ITAS programs are malfunctioning or there has been a database corruption.
