ITAS Data Grids

Users can view Data Entities, Star Reports and Documents using the options in the Application Bar. This information is displayed in a 'Data Grid' that provides a simple but powerful interface for users to view, update and manage their data:

Data Entities - Physical Trades, Futures and Options, Posted Transactions, Unposted Transactions, Client Accounts, WIP Accounts

Documents - Company Documents, Unindexed Documents, Unverified Documents, Archived Documents

Star Reports - Accounting, Costs, Futures, Inventory, Physical Trades, Physical Valuations and Traffic

Features

The grids incorporate many of the standard features from MS applications including:

  • Filter and sort column data
  • Add, remove and reorder columns
  • Refresh the grid
  • Search the entire grid or individual columns
  • Export the grid in a variety of formats including .IRP (ITAS Report), .DOC, .PDF, .HTML, .TXT, .CSV and .XLS
  • Email specific grid data or the complete list to recipients using your ITAS address book or to a list of clients
  • Save Filters and Layouts
  • Keyboard support

Managing the Grid Layout

Columns can be added or removed using the Column Chooser which is opened by clicking the '+' icon in the toolbar or selecting 'Show Column Chooser' from the drop down menu shown when the right mouse button is clicked on the column headers. A list of the available columns is shown and the user can drag them to the position they want them on the grid or drag/drop within the panel to define the order.

Columns can be removed by dragging and dropping them outside the column header row.

The drop down menu (shown when the right mouse button is clicked on the column headers) also enables the columns to be automatically resized (Best Fit) based on the width of the label.

Saving Filters and Layouts

The current layout of the data grid including the filters selected, column order, column filters and search parameters can be saved as a Layout and reopened at any time from a drop down menu. To use this feature:

  • Set up a view by filtering and sorting the data, choosing the columns needed and putting them in the order you require
  • Click the Save Layout icon
  • Enter the name of the layout and select whether it is a Private (only available to you) or Public (available to administrators so they can be assigned to all users) and Save
  • The layout is added to the Layout drop down box and can be removed by clicking the 'x' icon and confirming your request

Note: when a user re-opens the page they are shown data from the last view they had open.

Query Editing

The Query Editor feature enables users to have accurately control the data shown by editing the query directly.

The current query is always shown at the bottom of the grid and can be edited by clicking the pencil icon or by selecting 'Filter Editor...' from the drop down menu shown when the right mouse button is clicked on the column headers.

ITAS Reporting Database Data Views

Clients with access to the Reporting Database (included in the ITAS Extended Features) can view the Report data by clicking the Reports icon in the primary navigation bar. The data is provided in the following formats:

  1. Data is not restricted by Company/Trading Entity - the data for all of the Trading Entities you have access to can be viewed.  The grid filters can be used to restrict the view to individual Trading Entities and saved as layouts to provide a flexible view of the data.
  2. Totals Header Row has been added to the top of the Report Data Grids which contain rolled up totals of the data in the corresponding column (if applicable). The totals include the following calculations:
    • Sum
    • Minimum Value in the data set
    • Maximum Value in the data set
    • Count of the values (this value may be different to the Item Count shown in the bottom left as it takes into account any empty data fields in the column)
    • Average
    • Custom enables users to add calculations from other rows to be shown in this column header
