ITAS Service Packs & Deployments

What Is An ITAS Service Pack?

ITAS Service Packs (SP) are deployed to your server to ensure you have the latest, most up to date version of Hivedome’s ITAS software. They can be made up of any number of ITAS developments and or bug fixes that are packaged together and delivered in a two executable files.

Installing these updates as a package is quicker, easier, and less likely to cause errors or issues than installing them one by one as hot fixes.

ITAS is ever evolving, with updates and improvements being worked on constantly therefore, to ensure all users are benefitting from the most up-to-date version of the software, Hivedome operates a quarterly release cycle to provide users with at least four service packs per calendar year. A schedule that’s suits you will be agreed following the implementation of the software so that service packs can be deployed with as little impact to your business and your users as possible

Service packs can also be produced on an ad hoc basis, their frequency, and deployments driven by customer requirements. So, if a new feature has been made available that you would like to utilise, this could be delivered in an out of cycle release requested from Hivedome.

Service Pack Types

Due to the various functions and components that make up ITAS there are currently two separate service pack types that may require installing:

  • ITAS – Contains core ITAS functionality
  • ITAS Services – Contains Trader Desktop and ITAS Webservices updates

ITAS

This service pack will contain changes to the core ITAS software, this is the functionality used to manage your trading data. This could include contracts, client records, inventory data etc.

ITAS Services

This service pack will contain changes to the Trader Desktop element of ITAS, this is the functionality that gives your users access to core ITAS functionality, and to personalise their ITAS experience with the use of tools such as Trader Desk Top Homepage, the Smart Panel Alerts etc. as well as updates to ITAS web based features such as Data Portal and OData.

These service packs are usually deployed one after the other during the deployment window however, they can be deployed independently when required.
