Non-User Alerts

Non-User Alerts are predominantly Alerts for middleware and are located in the Alerts Admin menu, as these are non-user alerts, users cannot subscribe to them.

We have created Non-User Alerts to solve a historical problem of when a specific user alert has been unsubscribed by all users then the information needed is not being sent, the simple act of switching the alerts on by the status bar (see pic below) will mean the alert is subscribed to and an alert will be pushed out to the messaging system whenever the process for triggering the alert has completed. In order for your services (middleware) to receive the alert it will need to subscribe to web services api v1 Events Service, see here for more details.

There are 2 types of Non-User Alerts, New item alert and Data change alerts, the Alert Id is used to distinguish between the various alerts (see pic below)

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not wish your services (middleware) to receive a specified alert then you must switch off the alert through the Alerts Admin screen, if alerts are just unsubscribed from your Services they will still be sent to the Events Service which will result in a backlog of messages.
