What is MAT

MAT is a document matching procedure for CLI accounts that are Open Item accounting i.e. .P and .S only

MAT is used to match or delete an existing match for any kind of posted item existing in the ITAS transactions database. MAT displays a form with an empty grid and several search fields that must be filled. The operation of MAT consists of displaying the transactions (according to the search criteria) and then selecting the documents to be matched, in full by ticking the end column or in part by over typing the amount field.

The delete of a MATch code will de-match every transaction marked accordingly i.e. the user can not part un-match.

The only constraint for matching is the final balance. All credit items must balance to zero with the debit transactions. After complete entry, balancing, and saving, ITAS generates a unique match code to identify the matching of the transactions involved. The 'match date' is marked on all transactions as being the document date of the youngest dated transaction and this is used in rollback in procedures such as CLIST, CPRISK and CCR.

Accounting transactions that have been archived (MEP/MEPACT) cannot be unmatched.

Note 1:  There is Hivedome activated feature (S01), that when a transaction in the CLI ledger has been fully matched, any associate transactions in the WIP ledger will also be marked with the match code to indicate the status of the receivable/payable. This assists in the quick review of WIP accounts as regards their completion for liquidation.  This use of this feature negates the MATWIP application.
Note 2: CLI accounts .T (i.e. balance b/f-c/f accounting) can be marked for filtering with the MATT procedure
