SPDL - Service Pack DownLoad

What is SPDL

SPDL allows a Hivedome client site, that has a full Support Agreement, to view any outstanding ITAS software releases in text form with the facility to download from the Hivedome website the corresponding service pack.
The client site will have been provided with a secure username/password which will on authorisation allow the viewing of a grid of service pack information.  Standard HTML links will allow online viewing/printing of the release note.  Actioning the download will be auctioned by HTTP with standard questions as to where file(s) are to be secured.  Hivedome will have setup the standard directory \itas\install ready for receipt of files.
When the download of the service pack has been completed, complete the installation by ensuring ALL users have exited ITAS and all special ITAS services e.g. Posting processes, Weigh-Bridge interfaces are closed.
Activate the actual installation by using Windows Explorer, double click on the downloaded service pack to unzip and then click on the ItasSetup.exe in the expanded directory. This program will activate many different processes according to what has been built into the Service Pack e.g. program copies to exec directories, data table modifications, new data table creation, S01 control setups…  all of the changes are documented in the log.
The results of the installation are reported in \itas\log\ with a recognisable file name e.g. install20091225090123.txt  If there are any error or warning messages, please contact Hivedome by sending the log to [email protected].

After a successful installation, the Administrator will need to activate ITAS Navigator, whereby some updates will have included revised ITAS dll files which will prompt you to run a process called REGSweep. This process will unregister all the old dll files and re-install the latest versions of all. You may sometimes need to run this process manually on all the ITAS desktop servers. Login to each Desktop Server, run ITAS Navigator and click on Navigator task bar (far left)File – Refresh Registry – Register Only.
