Trading Logistics Features

The simplest/easiest maintenance feature is to only maintain the current Shipping Status e.g. Nominated, Afloat, Landed, Warehoused, Weight-Loss, Write-Off

Logistics data can be maintained in ITAS in 3 configurable options:

1. Default/Standard - TRADE/Traffic has standard pages for Shipping, Warehouse, Memo/Marks. There are S01 configurations for Customs page, Samples, Railcars which also enable various data fields for tracking, reporting. Other S01 configurations enable control on specific dates being maintained for some Shipping status e.g. Afloat, Warehoused. Other configurations enable date(s) defaults when ETA is linked to Delivered etc.. see Hivedome Consultancy for further detail for education and training.

2. Transport configuration (ctrl30_transport=Y). This feature activates PHYSCODES/Shipment Modes where codes are setup for Road transport, Barge, Rail, Container, Vessel. These codes are recognised in TRADE/EXPED, PROSCHED, PROTANK, PROMAN to facilitate specialist pages for the different categories e.g.  Road data x Haulier, truck reg, RailCar data Numbers of cars, IDs, supplier. Any relevant updates of these specialist pages back flow to the standard TRADE/Traffic pages and thereby available in the standard Traffic Reporting.

3. Multi Stage Logistics (ctrl30_transport=M). This is a variation of above. This enables the maintenance of a complete journey e.g. From Mill by Road (stage 1) to a Railhead (stage 2) to a Port (stage 3) onto a Vessel.  The user can track the Goods by marking the relevant stages as Current which then back flows that stage data on to the standard TRADE/Traffic pages.  see Hivedome Consultancy for further detail for education and training.
