ITAS Alerts

Overview

Alerts and notifications enable users to register to receive alerts* for changes in specified data points. Alterations to a Port of Destination or to a Bill of Lading Date, or a reminder of Vessel nomination being  required, can be brought to the attention of back office staff whose responsibility it is to ensure compliance with strict regulations and deadlines.

Comparison alerts allow changes occurring in data to be compared to an absolute value or to another contract and an alert issued in response and notification of impending due dates for an event such as a contract expiration or pricing expiry date becoming due can also be configured and reported directly to the relevant department or person.

Alerts fall into two categories; Data or Operational alerts. The former are self-service and can be created by any nominated administrator as they involve identifying a single or multiple data points and requesting a notification when data change is detected through the AUDIT triggers. Operational alerts are linked to processes, typically those available through Heritage applications. There is not necesarily any data change involved and these give the ability to raise event notifications to interested subscribers. These alerts are managed through the NextGen (NG) Framework and a Master List of those currently available can be seen here.

Viewing Desktop Notifications

Desktop notifications are triggered as soon as the appropriate changes are made to the relevant data. Notifications are delivered to a number of areas on the Trader Desktop.

Notifications can be viewed in several places:

  • Notification Panel
  • ITAS Smart Panel
  • Via Pop Up Notification

Desktop notifications are only received if the user is logged into ITAS, if notifications are triggered while the user is logged out they’ll be delivered when the user next logs into ITAS Trader Desktop.

Email Notifications

Email alerts are triggered as soon as one or more ITAS data values are changed and the notifications are delivered direct to the user via email which means if an alert is triggered while the user is not logged into ITAS and the Trader Desktop they will still receive the notification.
